Autograph letter signed : Denmark Hill, to W.H. Harrison, 1851 Feb 10.

Expressing their shock and distress that Mr. Prout should have died last night after leaving Denmark Hill, where he was full of life and spirits. He sends a book which does not belong to them and which Mr. Harrison should keep. It came down from the garret when they were filling an enlarged bookcase. Originally they intended to send it to the Richardsons, in Australia, to whom they send reading material about twice a year. They are continually turning books out, and Mr. Harrison should keep any volumes sent to him.

Euphemia Chalmers Gray, called Effie or Phemy, was born in Bowerswell House, Perth, and went to Avondale School, near Statford-on-Avon.
